We love you, Ms. Judy...

At such a special time of year, it is with much sadness that I tell you Ms. Judy will be leaving. Ms. Judy has been with us for six years. When she started, she worked each morning with practically all ages and she spent her afternoons with the toddlers. Every day at 4:00 when she would go back to the toddler class, they would yell "Dooodeee"!!! This became her name to most toddlers, but she just laughed and smiled and went with it. They knew Ms. Judy would let them play with her hair and climb all over her.....then when it was time to go outside to play she would push them all on the swings over and over and over again. My baby happened to be in this toddler class, and she LOVED Ms. Judy.

When I needed a cook who could whip up some good homemade meals and snacks, she agreed to step into that position. From then on, every day in the toddler room when the door opens for lunch to be served, I can still hear ""Dooodeee!!!". She has become everyone's Grandmother. The Learning Center has been blessed to have Ms. Judy for these six years, and we are all very sad that she has to go. She will be moving to Texarkana with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. We know they need her just as much as we do.
I will miss Ms. Judy's genuine love for ALL of us, both children and staff, and her loyalty and dedication to all of us.

Shannon's SANTA Scoop!

Santa will be here Thursday, December 18 at 9:00 AM. His visit will begin with the babies. After each class returns to their room, they will munch on Christmas Goodies and PARTY!!! Please make sure you get the RED NOTE out of your child's folder.....it is a SECRET NOTE for Mom & Dad's eyes only!!!

Let me tell you one thing, we have the Root'nest, toot'nest cowboys & cowgirls.....and they can ride stickhorses faster than anything I've ever seen! Today we ended our Go West fun with a 'gold rush'. Wait until you see the gold they gathered up!

What a FUN Halloween Carnival we had!!! We had some awesome costumes and yummy treats! Hopefully a slideshow of pictures will come soon.......

Halloween is here!!! Friday we will have lots of spooky, silly fun! Pooh Bears and Care Bears will play Halloween games and win prizes & candy! Please wear your costume Friday (toddlers too). Toddlers will party in their classroom. We want all of our friends to see our costumes! After our games are played and we are ready to party & munch on some candy, we will change into our regular clothes for the day. Parents, you are welcome to come have fun with us!

Please bring in your bag of candy by Wednesday, 10/29, so we can prepare for our games. Also, if you signed up to bring a party treat, bring it in by party time! We don't want our little goblins to not have enough party stuff!

Thanks for your help to make this a great Halloween at TLC!

2008 Race for the Cure

This little piggy smells stinky..... Garrett and Becca watch the Pig Races at the Pumpkin Patch.

We are finishing up our 'color' unit with black, just in time for Halloween! Make sure you remember your black book Tuesday, your black toy Thursday, and also remember to wear black Thursday! I wonder what kind of black treat we will cook Wednesday? Our annual Halloween Carnival will be Friday, October 31 at 9:00. (We are asking that each child bring in one bag of wrapped Halloween candy by Wednesday, 10/29.) The fun begins with the Pooh Bears. We will have games, prizes and of course, Halloween candy! After the Pooh Bears have played games and are ready to munch on some candy, the Care Bears will come in to play... please come in costume!!!



By the way, we had a great time Saturday during the Race for the Cure. If you see Ms. Natalie, ask her about her line dancing debut (she took a little break from her walk to slide in with some line dancers performing for the walkers)...Ms. Alden and Ms. Kylea slipped off to the side to try some yoga as these limber people showed off for us walkers...Ms. Jamie and Ms. Alden made Channel 7 news, as did Ms. Marcia on another channel from what I hear. Again, WE CELEBRATE DEIDRA CRIMMINS FOR HER VICTORY IN THE BATTLE!

The Pumpkin Patch trip with our Care Bears was FUN! Thank you to all the parents we had along to help! Now we can say we've seen a pig race!

Shannon's CELEBRATION Scoop!

Tomorrow as our TLC Races for the Cure, we do so in CELEBRATION OF DEIDRA CRIMMINS. Her daughter, Gracie Crimmins, is in Ms. Ashley's Pooh Bear class. After the 2007 Race for the Cure Deidra was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was tough and courageous and she won her battle! Now, a year later she is cancer free and ready to Race again....we honor and celebrate her as we join together for tomorrow's race.

Once again, our 'color' Thursday was cool! We had lots of yellow!!! Next week, we'll do blue.

A couple of reminders...

We offer electronic funds transfer as an option for paying your tuition. Tuition is due Monday for the week.

We close at 6:00 PM. Ms. Dana has been very courteous about this, but please realize 6 PM is our closing time and you will be charged a late pick up fee after 6:00.

Ms. Jean and Jaden are 'reddy' to rock in the rocking chair!
RED week was great!!! We had sooooo many RED outfits Thursday!!!

Zoe is 'reddy' for a runway with her stylish RED ensemble.
And, of course, Ms. Meeah was all striped and 'reddy' for some fun in the toddler room.

Please be sure to help with our unit each week by bringing a book, toy (on toy day) and of course, by wearing our appropriate color for the week on Thursdays...also, Care Bears...bring something each week for the COLOR BOX!

This week we went 'camping'!!! Look at all our cool tents!
Evan brought an awesome tent...we had so much fun this week!
Kanyon is 'roasting' a marshmallow by the Pooh Bear 'camp fire'.
We made our own tents, too, so everyone could take turns in all the tents!

This week we talked about the circus. The Care Bears walked the 'tight rope'...
and we even had some clowns show up for school Thursday!

Do you have pictures of a camping trip with your family? Your child's class would love to see them. We know pictures are valuable, so if you are able to let us borrow them to share, give them to your child's teacher and we will take good care of them. We will return them after our camping unit.
