Ok, one more time.....THE CARE BEAR PUMPKIN PATCH TRIP is scheduled for Thursday, 10/22 at 9:45. Be sure to leave your labeled booster seat and bring a sack lunch with a drink! The activity fee of $7.50 will be charged to your account Thursday, so please add this into your tuition check for Monday, 10/19.

I'm on vacation.... will see you all Thursday, 10/29!!!

Our Care Bear Pumpkin Patch trip was rescheduled, so we plan to go this Wednesday, the 14th, at 9:50. Again, parents are welcome to attend. We are leaving a little later, but I am sure we will have plenty of time to pick a pumpkin, enjoy a hayride and play. Don't forget to send a sack lunch and drink. We will eat there and return after lunch is finished.

I also want to let you know I will be on vacation beginning October 19. I plan to return the 29th.....

Care Bear Moms and Dads, thank you for signing the permission slip for the Pumpkin Patch. Please make sure you've also signed the paper from Mary's Place, as we have to turn that sheet when we go. Please come with us if you would like!!! We will go at 9:00 Wednesday, October 7.

Fall is here! Now, if we could just have a little sunshine we could go out and play!!!
Just a couple of important dates...
THIS Wednesday, the 23rd is picture day. These will be individual pictures, beginning with the Toddlers around 8:30.
Wednesday, October 7, the CARE BEARS will go to the Pumpkin Patch. We are excited that this year we can go right down the road to Mary's Place! We plan to leave TLC at 9:00. Parents, please attend this cool outing with us if you would like! You will see a sign up sheet in the CARE BEAR room soon.
Just one more thing.....October Supply Fee is coming up! Please include your $18 October Supply Fee with your tuition for the week of October 5.

Parents, if any of you play an instrument, we would love for you to play for us! Ms. Kim started us off with her drums on our first Musical Monday. SHE ROCKS!!! The children really enjoyed this. If your talent could be shared with us on a Monday morning, please let me know!

The Care Bears, many of whom Ms. Jean rocked as babies, sang her some special songs.

After almost 8 years of rocking babies, Ms. Jean will be spending time with her husband and enjoying traveling and just being retired. I have a lump in my throat as I type this, we all love her so much. Her smiling face will be missed by all the early arrivals each morning at TLC. She will still be our baby room sub, she just won't be here every day to bless us by just being Ms. Jean. We do love her, and we thank her for her years of TLC. We hope she and JW enjoy their time and find lots of fun things to see and do!

Eight more weeks of summer! Let's see what is happening this week in school age: Monday is pizza day...pizza lunch & activities here at TLC. Tuesday is movie day, Tinseltown for Rooms 1-4 at 8:30, and The Rave for the Activity Center at 9:30.....Wednesday Room 1 stays here for races and sports stuff, Rooms 2, 3 and 4 go swimming at Mills Park 1:45-4:15 and the Activity Center goes Ice Skating at AR Skatium 9:30-12:30.....Thursday Room 1 will bowl 12:45-2:30 at Enterprise Lanes, Rooms 2, 3 and 4 stay here for races and sports stuff and the AC will bowl at 11:45-1:30...Friday Room 1 skates at Benton Skate Center 8:45-11:45 WITH Rooms 2, 3 & 4, the Activity Center swims at Mills Park 1:45-4:15! And there you have it for this week's fun!

Week 2 of summer is successfully under our belt with tons of FUN!
Here's what is up with School Age June 15-19th.
Monday--Pizza day! Tuesday Rooms 1-4 go to Tinseltown at 8:30 until around 11:45. The Activity Center will get Snow Cones. Wednesday we will all be SLIDING ON THE WATER SLIDE throughout the day! Thursday Room 1 goes to Cakery Affairs from 12:20 to 1:40. Rooms 2, 3 and 4 will make something cool with Cakery Affairs HERE from 9:30-11:30. The Activity Center will see a movie at The Rave, Imagine That from 12:15-3:30, Friday Room 1 and the Activity Center go swim at Mills Park from 2:45-4:15. Rooms 2, 3 and 4 go bowling at Enterprise Lanes 11:45-1:45.........whewwwwww, busy, busy, busy!!!

ThIs WeEk'S sCoOp.....

One week of summer is over!!! I think Wednesday was the highlight of the week because of the BIG PLUNGE! This will be on the playground every other Wednesday throughout the summer!

Tuesday is movie day again for all rooms, and the Activity Center's movie will be announced Monday.....Wednesday room 1 hangs out here, 2,3 & 4 go swimming, and the AC goes ice skating! Thursday we all go over the the Bryant TLC for inflatable jump houses and FUN! Friday is swimming for room 1 and the AC, while 2, 3 & 4 will go skating!!!

SUMMER IS HERE!
School age, Monday is pizza day.....we will get to know our groups and play games, do some art so we can decorate our rooms....and have FUN! Tuesday is Movie day for all children in Rooms 1-4. The Activity Center will go the the snowcone place. WEDNESDAY......WATER SLIDE IN OUR BACKYARD FOR ROOMS 1-ACTIVITY CENTER! Thursday Room 1 goes to Cakery Affairs, Rooms 2-4 will do sand art at TLC, Activity Center goes bowling. Friday, Room 1 swims, Rooms 2-4 goes bowling, and the Activity Center swims!
School age children must be here by the departure time listed on the activity calendar each day.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR COMING TO OUR TEA PARTY! WE ARE SO GLAD OUR MOMS AND GRANDMOTHERS WERE ABLE TO ATTEND! THE SONGS THE CARE BEARS SANG WERE BEAUTIFUL...AND THEY HAD SO MUCH FUN.....

Shannon's TLC 25th Anniversary Scoop!!!!!

As we celebrated our week long birthday party, some of you shared your thoughts as to what TLC means to you and your family. I wanted to share these with everyone...

Taylor has been at TLC since she was 9 weeks old. I have not worried one day about her since she's been here. That's the thing I love most about TLC. I know Taylor is safe and well taken care of while I'm at work. As a matter of fact, I think Ms. Jean rocked and spoiled her more than we did at home when she was in the baby room. Thanks TLC for the past 3 years of excellent childcare.

We are celebrating 25 years of TLC!!!

Monday is our 'Birthday Party'. We will have birthday cake for snack and we have NEW 25th ANNIVERSARY t-shirts!

In case you didn't know...

We have two wonderful members of our staff who have shown 14 years of TLC:

Ms. Becky Wallace, since January of 1995

Ms. Gail Marts since March of 1995

Our Infant Room Teacher has been rocking babies for 11 years:

Ms. Mary Pilcher, since September of 1998

Our sweet opener, greeting at 6:00 each morning and spoiling babies, has shown 7 years of TLC:

Ms. Jean Wooldridge.

We also are blessed with two staff members who have been with us for 5 years, two who have been with us for almost 4 years, and one going on 3 years of TLC! Seven are going on 2 years with us!

We are proud of our staff!

The Easter Bunny will have hopped through our playground by the time we come to school Thursday!!! We will hunt those beautiful eggs at 9:00 sharp, make sure you are here on time! Please bring an Easter basket for the hunt.
Also, the Bunny is very busy as you can imagine, so we are asking that you bring in ONE BAG OF PLASTIC EGGS AND ONE BAG OF CANDY BY TUESDAY, 4/7. We are going to stuff them and have them ready for him to hide........please do not bring these in Thursday morning, as all the eggs will have been hidden by this time!

Well, today is a sad day! Ms. Dana is graduating Nursing School and will begin her work in a hospital next week....We are all VERY sad, but very happy for her as well. She will be missed by all of us but she has promised to visit often.

We are now into our SPRING unit. Easter is just right around the corner, too! We have planned our Easter Egg Hunt for Thursday, April 9 at 9:00. Another date to save is Tuesday, April 28, when the Care Bears will go on our annual ZOO trip!!!

Hanging out in the 'day room' at the Fire Department

This week was exciting for the Care Bears...but wait until the week we have ahead! Our Care Bears got to go the Bryant Fire Department for a tour! This morning an ambulance came to visit, so we could check out the inside and how they take care of hurt people in emergencies. Ms. Becky's Care Bears were able to see everything, but Ms. Gail's class had to cut their turn short because the Paramedics had a REAL EMERGENCY! We heard the call they got and they had to leave and help someone. We watched them speed off with the lights on and the siren going. We hope they can come back soon.

Next week's scheduled Community Helpers:

The Bryant Fire Department will come HERE to see Pooh Bears at 9:00 Tuesday

Mr. Jeff, Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff (also Ms. Ashley's husband) will be here at 9:00 Wednesday

Mrs. Godwin, a Dental Hygienist (also Lawson's mom) will speak to Pooh Bears and Care Bears Thursday morning at 9:00

Shannon's Scoop...

We painted with ice....using indigo blue frozen paint, because this week our letter was I.

We've finished our All About Me unit and we are moving on to Community Helpers. This week the Care Bears will go to the Bryant Fire Department to take tour. We will leave at 8:45 Tuesday morning, so make sure to leave your booster seat in the hallway. Next week, a fire truck, and the firemen, too :) will come out to see the Pooh Bears. We will have some other exciting visitors coming to see us.....look for pictures soon!
